We 3 Create workshop
On my way home after class, I walked past the back of Broadway Theatre and decided to pop in. I spoke to a woman called Claire, and we got talking about the type of art I am currently creating. What I found really interesting was that she had created a crochet piece in response to music, where each colour represented a different note from a folk song.
She invited me to come back and take part in a creative workshop called We 3 Create. I attended the session on 7th November and took my children’s great grandma, Carole, with me. It was really nice to share the experience with her and get her creative juices flowing.
During the workshop, we worked together on a collage, building up a scene using cut-outs from magazines and other pieces of paper. The session felt relaxed and welcoming, with no pressure to create a finished outcome. This made the experience enjoyable and confidence building.
Sharing creativity across generations felt very special and meaningful. The workshop reinforced my interest in process-led making, collaboration, and shared creative experiences, where the act of making and spending time together is just as important as the final piece.
