Exploring with oil pastel
My 9 year old daughter at 3 weeks old
I wanted to give oil pastels a go as it was always a medium I enjoyed using in the past. I have a cherished memory of my daughter when she was about 3 weeks old, so I created a drawing from memory of her in her bouncer. I remember the lights being low in the house whilst Eva remained fixated on her light-up orange and green flower that played Clair de Lune. Her eyes were so big and sparkled in the light. My drawing has a cartoonish element to it, which was not intentional. I used the oil pastels that I have. I need to get a new set in a better quality and a larger range of colours as the ones I have don't blend and transition into one another very well which I can see from the background.
