Ceramics exploring extruding Traces of Landscape

 Exploring the clay extruder

I knew what I wanted to do today but wasn't sure how to do it. With help from James in Ceramics, he set me on the right path. Once I knew what I was doing I created some nice pieces.

These were the Extruder tools I used today. I started off with the hand held extruder. I used numerous disc heads experimenting with the different shapes.

Next time I have a go at extruding clay I have to make sure I chuck the clay down hard on a flat surface to get rid of the cracks in the clay like the teacher did on the YouTube video as I noticed this had happened with my larger extruded pieces.

I really like the way these smaller extruded pieces turned out in the above images. I had to be more free, not being calculated with my placement. Letting the extruded pieces fall naturally.

The above image and below images are clay pieces from the larger extruder. These pieces remind me of the enormous sculpture by Henry Moore at the Yorkshire Sculpture Park because I only made two large pieces but they look different from all angles.
