Colour palette

After selecting colours for my first baby clothes test piece, I began researching a range of colour palettes for future abstract works. I was particularly drawn to combinations of warm oranges, reds and yellows against cooler blues and teals. Many of the palettes were inspired by nature, including autumn leaves and sunsets, which connect well with the themes of memory and nostalgia that run throughout my work.

Although I have not yet chosen a final palette, collecting these references has helped me think more carefully about how colour can influence mood and emotion. Moving forward, I would like to continue experimenting with different colour combinations to see how they affect the overall feel of the work.
