Experimentation, recreating the wax crayon effect on perspex
This was purely an experimental test to compare masking fluid and PVA glue, exploring which material would hold, peel and create the most effective negative space. The PVA glue was unsuccessful, whereas the masking fluid produced much better peeling results.
However, overall, I found the process quite long-winded and time-consuming for the outcome it achieved. Although the negative space effect worked, it was not the type of finish I was hoping for. I was not particularly drawn to the final result and felt that the process lacked the spontaneity I am trying to achieve within this body of work.
Moving forward, I need to explore alternative methods for creating negative space. While this experiment was useful in helping me rule out certain techniques, I do not think the glue-based approach is the right direction for me.
