Studio Practice Continuous line drawings
Continuous line drawings of leaves and flowers
To start off our new project 'Tracing of the land' I did some line drawings and continuous line drawings of a range of different leaves that I brought in from my garden. I also bought a bouquet which had Gerbera flowers which are one of my favourites. I used a fine liner, pencil, sharpie & coloured pens to experiment with. I really enjoyed using my fine liner with a brush nib because I liked that by changing my pressure I could create dense marks and with light pressure, my marks became wispier. With the pencil-drawn leaf, I spent more time creating the finer details of the tiny leaf vessels. I found with the sharpy pen, continuous line drawing, my movements were more rapid, but I tried to be precise with my proportions. I did like the shapes I made, however, these pens leak through the paper.
